Bill calling for repeal of oxygen cap gets new push.

In addition to support for the Meek bill, H.R. 2373, the Home Oxygen Patient Protection Act (HOPP) received a renewed push in Washington from all attendees.

his legislation to end the 36-month cap now has 84 cosponsors, according to the National Association for Independent Medical Equipment Suppliers, which says it is supporting Georgia efforts to work with the bill's sponsor, Rep. Tom Price (R-Ga.) to add proposed language to the bill if necessary to make it budget neutral.

NAIMES called on provider to ask for support for H.R. 2373 in their lobbying calls on Congress.

“Although ending competitive bidding is paramount for the industry, ending the oxygen cap is the second most important priority  this year,” NAIMES said in a public statement. “Suppliers are still suffering the consequences and patients are facing continued access issues.”
